Does anyone have any more details about this collaboration between Sparks and Gorillaz?
Apparently there's a video somewhere out there but it seems to be blocked for copyright reasons or something like that......

The new Gorillaz album is all collaborations and Sparks are one of those collaborations …I’d say it was blocked as it was a live surprise performance…as a precursor to the album release.
I wonder if Sparks will be cartoonified a la Gorillaz style if there is a video?
Someone (Brightonian I think) pointed out that if Sparks collaborated with Blur would they, taking a lead from FFS, call themselves …
…BS

I'm intrigued by the concert also....apparently the 4th night of House of Kong was a concert that was filmed....(no mobile phones were allowed into the venue) and a lot of guest appearances...including Johnny Marr and Sparks!
No doubt all will be revealed soon.......
(On the plus side, the forum seems to have recovered....🥳)

I heard it on Thursday, the sound was absolute rubbish but the song was great.
Let's hope we'll get a proper recording of that track soon!

So l see that Gorillaz have released their tour dates for next year....l got rather excited as apparently Sparks are appearing with them and one of the concerts is in Belfast (yay)....then l got less excited when l read the details again and it seems that Sparks are only appearing with them at the London concert....(it make sense l suppose.😂)
Never mind....maybe if they're in London next June they'll do a few extra concerts over in my direction!!!

I do like the song though.....

Don't get the production quibble ???

Really like the song. Grows on you.

Reminds me musically of Dare by The Human League.

Collaboration does work and also gave me that early-'80s vibe.

I wouldn't say that, but it's a much more traditional pop song
Melody by Ron, lyrics by DA, AIUI

PS I haven't heard Madder, but apparently, it's more in the same vein

Here's the YouTube link to the track. Fantastic video & the song is gonna be a huge hit, no doubt about it. Masterstroke for Sparks & with The Gorillaz together they are a perfect collaboration. Best thing both bands have done for a long time in my opinion.
Their brilliant collaboration with the French artist SebAstien is still my favourite though,'Handcuffed to a Parking Meter' is Sparks at their very best. I don't understand why it was never promoted properly, shame.
Meanwhile enjoy this catchy future smash....

i love it..It's dark yet uplifting and quite Political but done in a good way.Gorillaz do some great music and i just love this Collab and great to see that Sparks will be support to the Gorillaz on their tour at the Spurs concert..Damon must like Sparks as they go back to 1994 and the Mile End Concert were Sparks supported Blur..Hope this Collab gets Radio play and hits the charts.

PS Love how Sparks are in the video yet Gorillaz keep there usual cartoon characters.

Saw an interview with Damon Albarn who said the connection started when they were all playing a gig in Portugal and that R and R had left a note in DA's dressing room saying if ever you want to do something, here's our number

I'll leave it to those with more knowledge than me to unearth when Sparks were in Portugal........

Nice one,It sounds very feasable..I always thought Damon would like Sparks unique style and Diverse Music and respected them.I also wonder if Damon watched the Sparks movie and motivated him to work with them again.A mutual respect i think.
