Album news –

Below is an excerpt from the new Fan Club newsletter (Fan Club membership is available through the Sparks Mart) No time for play these days…Ron and Russell are feverishly working like mad scientists on their followup to Lil’ Beethoven (which is quite frankly, very hard to follow up)! However, the Maels are now fiercely challenging their former masterpiece and promise to equal, if not exceed its brilliance. Dean and Tammy are working hard to make sure they out-do themselves on this one as well. And now it can be told…after a year and a half of hard work, Russell informs us that the new album is “Not for the timid!” They’re taking it up a notch. “It’s elaborate, excessive, adventurous, more extreme, with lots of vocals! And there is much more diversified nstrumentation on the new album.” Our verbose vocalist continues, “We’ve attempted to push the parameters for those who thought Lil’ Beethoven was about as far as things could get pushed. Yet, we think the whole Sparks world will now live in peace and harmony with the scheme of the new Sparks album.” The new opus features three pieces (we hesitate to call them ‘songs’), which are quite expansive -up to six, and seven minutes long! The band’s official statement is as follows: “We’ve drawn a line in the sand with our new album. If you’re coming with us, step right over the line!” The album is now completed.
