Sparks – Los Angelean brothers Ron and Russell Mael – will perform their 1974 album ‘Kimono My House’ at The Theatre at Ace Hotel on Valentine’s Day 2015. They will be joined by a 38 piece orchestra, conducted by Suzie Katayama, to perform the new orchestral arrangements of the songs from the classic album plus favorites from across their varied career.

Sparks are Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals). Their genre-defying music is characterised by its intelligent, sophisticated, and acerbic lyrics and their unique stage presence.

The announcement comes as they prepare to perform these new orchestral arrangements, by Nathan Kelly, at London’s Barbican Hall on December 19 & 20 2014. Featuring the smash hit single “This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us”, ‘Kimono My House’ launched the band to an international audience on its release in 1974 and has been acclaimed by fellow musicians as diverse as Morrissey, Kurt Cobain and Bjork.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015, in Los Angeles with all our hometown Sparks fans at a special performance of ‘Kimono My House’ accompanied by a 38-piece orchestra. We will turn the stunning Theatre at Ace Hotel downtown into symphonic heaven for the ONLY planned North American concert of this performance. We have also selected songs from Sparks’ other 23 albums to round out the evening. Be our Valentine’s, LA!” – Ron and Russell Mael
