Well, the flight cases are packed and the group’s heading off to JFK, but the atmosphere from last Sunday night’s (August 3) spectacle still remains—Sparks has finally returned big time to the Big Apple! A packed Central Park crowd wildly welcomed back their heroes after a long absence from New York stages with the first US performance of their latest endeavour, “Lil’ Beethoven.” The famed outdoor setting was the ideal backdrop for the launch of the album in the US, and all of the expectations were exceeded by leaps and bounds. After Danish band Junior Senior completed their opening set, nightfall fell, and the electricity struck with the full on visual presentation of the magnificent Lil’ B. The New York crowd was treated to the 50 minute set featuring from start to end the 9 song work. After an ecstatic call for more from the packed in throng, the band came back and played a mini-5 song set including American staples, “I Predict'” and “Cool Places.” The evening ended with the moving “When Do I Get To Sing My Way” and the promise of a return trip to NYC soon!!
