Lil’ Beethoven has finally reached US record stores. Reports tell us of a great display in the New Releases section at Virgin Megastore in Los Angeles. Our New York spies report that there are good stocks at Virgin in New York too. The US version is packaged in a subtly different format. It’s in a beautiful white digipack with the actual disc having only the title of the album amidst the myriad drawings of the Lil’ Beethoven character. The album is also stickered with 2 great quotes from reviews in both Rolling Stone Magazine and also the New York Press. And, the lastest issue of the UK’s Record Collector Magazine (July 2003) has a fantastic 14 page spread on Sparks!! There are great vintage photos, a massive discography and great praise for not only the entire Sparks’ oeuvre, but most importantly for Lil’ Beethoven, stating that it is the pinnacle of the band’s long career.
